Junior Dance Classes: A Perfect First Step for Kinder–Year 2

Our Junior Dance classes are designed specifically for young boys and girls in Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2. We provide a high-energy, nurturing introduction to dance, ensuring every student leaves with a smile and a boost in confidence.

What Happens in a Junior Session?

Our 45-minute classes are a fun "mixed style" experience. Instead of sticking to a single discipline, we offer a blend of Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. Every lesson focuses on:

• Essential Technique: Building a strong foundation in rhythm, balance, and flexibility.

• Gross Motor Skills: Developing coordination and strength through movement.

• Creative Play: Fun dance games that encourage self-expression and teamwork.

• Confidence Building: A supportive environment where "mistakes" are just part of the fun.

• Expert Instruction by Kylah: Having danced since the age of two, Kylah brings many years of experience in competitive dance and choreography to every class. Her goal is to make learning the fundamentals of dance incredibly fun and to share her passion for all styles with the next generation of performers.

• Professional Supervision: Kylah’s mum—a Qualified Primary School Teacher—is present at every class. This ensures a safe, structured, and age-appropriate environment where every child’s well-being is the top priority. 

• Flexibility for Families: We offer pay-as-you-go classes with no lock-in contracts. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the fun or "drop-and-go" to run errands.

• The School Term Schedule: Lessons are held every Wednesday during the school term, making it easy to fit into your weekly family routine.

What to Wear: Come as You Are!

At KT Dance, we believe that when kids feel comfortable, they dance their best. That’s why we have no strict uniform requirements.

• Wear What You Love: Whether it's a favourite tutu, a "twirly" skirt, or your coolest "funky" outfit from home, we love seeing our students' personalities shine through!

• School Uniform Friendly: Coming straight from school? No problem! Students are more than welcome to dance in their school uniforms.

• Safety First: The only rule is that outfits shouldn't be long enough to cause a trip hazard.

• Footwear: We recommend bare feet or dance shoes. Please, no socks on the wooden floor as they can be slippery!
